THE 4D LIFE
PART ONE
FROM 3D LIFE TO 4D LOVE
1 Samuel 22: 1 – 2
1 David therefore departed from there and escaped to the cave of Adullam. So when his brothers and all his father's house heard it, they went down there to him. 2And everyone who was in distress, everyone who was in debt, and everyone who was discontented gathered to him. So he became captain over them. And there were about four hundred men with him.
What attracted these people to David? The anointing! The anointing attracts those who are in DISTRESS, those who are in DEBT, and those who are DISCONTENTED.
These guys represent REAL PEOPLE who live REAL LIVES in the REAL WORLD and in the reality of REAL PROBLEMS, but who have an awareness that the only REAL ANSWER to REAL PROBLEMS that we experience in the REAL WORLD is the ANOINTING – God’s supernatural ability to OVERCOME!
I call these people the 3D PEOPLE! All human beings see things in three dimensions – length, breadth, and depth!
If you are in DISTRESS – anxiety, mental suffering, anguish – you are often in a situation that presents you with the feeling that your circumstances are insurmountable – that the distance from where you are to where you want to be seems so wide that you cannot make it!
Two children between the ages of 10 and 18 kill themselves every day!
A survey conducted by the Office of National Statistics came up with the following findings:
Almost one sixth of all British adults aged between 16 and 74 have considered suicide at some point in their lives.
4 per cent of people have considered killing themselves in the past year.
Just over 4 per cent of people questioned said they had attempted suicide – about half a per cent in the past year.
Suicidal thoughts are more likely among young women, younger adults, divorcees, and single parents.
Increased rates of suicidal thinking were also found among those who had mental disorders, who were dependent on alcohol or drugs, or who had experienced stressful life events.
If you are in DEBT – an obligation to repay something to someone else – then sometimes in these days of refinancing and loan consolidation it seems that the only way to go is down – until you are in so deep that there appears to be no natural way out!
The UK is second only to the US internationally in terms of our reliance on credit cards.
We cannot ignore our debt problems, because they are not going to go away – if anything they are going to get worse.
Analysis by Skipton Building Society concludes the next 10 years will see the debt mountain grow to £1.6 trillion from the current £1 trillion. That works out at an extra £600 billion or another £60 billion every year which is around £1,000 for every man, woman and child in the UK. The society also predicts we will have to work longer so we can afford to service our debts. Skipton's Jennifer Holloway concludes we've gone from a culture of thrift to a culture of spend and now to a culture of debt. We are a nation hooked on credit and for some it is dangerous and literally very costly.
The National Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux counts the human cost of the debt explosion – it handled 706,700 consumer debt problems last year – a 74% rise on the 405,800 it dealt with in 1996/7. Consumer debt is by far the biggest type of debt problem that people come for help on and it is increasing more than other types of debt problem – by over 35,000 in the last year, according to NACAB.
Today the Federal debt of the United States is $7.32 trillion and growing at the rate of $1.73 billion a day.
If you are DISCONTENTED – restlessly unhappy, dissatisfied – then you are probably wondering how long your current circumstances can continue before you are forced to change something in order to try and produce some kind of rest, happiness, and satisfaction in your life. One example of this in our society can be seen in relation to marriage and divorce.
43% of first marriages end within 15 years, but 75% of all divorced people re-marry, half of them within three years. This highlights that the vast majority have not given up on the idea of marriage but have merely become restless and discontented with their choice of spouse and have gone with the old maxim of “a change is as good as a rest!”
BBC News Online reports that couples who think their relationship is perfect are just setting themselves up to be knocked down once the wedding cake is eaten and the honeymoon is over. For better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, we need to approach marriage with a more realistic view. And couples who do that are happier in the long run. Eighty-two couples who had been married less than three months participated in the four-year study in which each spouse was independently questioned.
Seventeen couples (almost a quarter) divorced by the end of the four years. Those who avoided divorce managed to do so by being forgiving and having charitable explanations for their partner's negative behaviour, reports the BBC. But those individuals who had extremely high expectations and did not have these excellent relationship skills, were more likely to be sorely disappointed with their one true love.
We live in a world where people think that if they can just change something – where they live, what they drive, how they look, etc then their lives will suddenly take on a new meaning.
In 2003, $9.4 billion was spent by Americans on cosmetic surgery. Much of this total was financed at the expense of delaying other payments to an already record debt load for the average American. And its not just a female issue. 14% of Botox injections were given to men. There are parties today where you can come and spend hundreds of dollars and leave with a temporary change to your external looks via an injection of Botox. What a way to make wrinkles "temporarily" disappear. Bring back Tupperware!
People tend to spend money rather easily to make the exterior of the body look good. We have self help books to seduce us. We have television and movies to persuade us. The average cost of liposuction is $2578.00 and there was a total of 8.3 million surgical and non-surgical cosmetic procedures performed last year in the United States.
And so, the world is full of 3D people trying – and generally failing – to cope with the circumstances of their lives as they perceive them.
But there is another dimension that God wants us to live in. When man was originally created he was created as a physical being. But God also gave man the capacity to communicate with Him at another higher level. When God breathed life into man it was his life that he breathed into him and man became a spiritual being as well as a physical being. It was this spiritual element of his life that was lost when man disobeyed God and man fell from a place of living in the realm of the spirit to living in the realm of the soul.
God is 4D, and so He didn’t see us in our 3D state of DISTRESS, DEBT, and DISCONTENT and merely sympathise with us – He came to DELIVER US!
And so, when we are born again it is this ability to communicate with God in the fourth dimension of spirit that is restored.
Ephesians 2: 1 – 3
1 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, 2in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, 3among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.
Jesus’ mission statement declares God’s intention to restore people to the fourth dimension where their 3D needs are not only met but are obliterated and where we are brought into a new place of relationship with God and way of living where we are no longer susceptible to the same 3D junk! It’s called living by faith!
Luke 4: 18 – 19
18"The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, because He has anointed Me
to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind,
to set at liberty those who are oppressed; 19to proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD."
When we come to Jesus as 3D people his desire is to bring us into a fourth dimension – into deliverance that is permanent and not just a temporary quick fix!
Luke 5: 12 – 15
12And it happened when He was in a certain city, that behold, a man who was full of leprosy saw Jesus; and he fell on his face and implored Him, saying, "Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean." 13Then He put out His hand and touched him, saying, "I am willing; be cleansed." Immediately the leprosy left him. 14And He charged him to tell no one, "But go and show yourself to the priest, and make an offering for your cleansing, as a testimony to them, just as Moses commanded." 15However, the report went around concerning Him all the more; and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by Him of their infirmities.
All through the gospels we see Jesus – because of the anointing that was upon Him – attracting crowds of 3D people! And those who came to him were healed and delivered! They had an encounter with the fourth dimension!

A 4D being would be a god to us. It would see everything in our world. It could effortlessly remove things before your very eyes, giving you the impression that the objects simply disappeared. The 4D being can also see inside any 3D object or life form, and if necessary remove anything from inside. The being can look inside our intestines, or remove a tumour from our brain without ever cutting through the skin.
Who does that sound like to you? 3D people need to have an encounter with this 4D being – his
name is Jesus!
Because we have lived in our little 3D world in the realm of the soul we have so limited God in his dealings with us, and our experience of Him!
Ephesians 3: 14 – 20
14For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, 16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man…
It is essential that our life is no longer lived out of the realm of the soul but that we are living out of our born again spirit under the direction of the Holy Spirit and by his strength and ability.
17that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love…
Remember – our faith will only ever work in direct proportion to the revelation we have of how much God loves us. Our belief in God’s unconditional love for us regardless of our performance is the only solid foundation for a continued walk of faith in the power of the Spirit in freedom from fear. As it says in:
1 John 4: 16 – 19
16we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.17Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. 18There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. 19We love Him because He first loved us.
If we are going to walk in the fullness of our purpose and destiny as new creations in Christ then we have to transcend the limitations of our 3D experience and enter into the fourth dimension of an everyday supernaturally natural life in the Spirit!
18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth
When we first encountered Jesus and were born again we experienced the width and the length and the depth of his love. This is entry point Christianity!
Psalm 103: 12
12As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.
That’s the WIDTH of his love – an immeasurable distance! Some of us need more revelation of how far God’s love has removed our sin from us and delivered us from our past so that we no longer live under condemnation, accusation, and judgement regarding our lives BC!
Hebrews 7: 25
25Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him
That’s the LENGTH of his love – God had to go to great lengths to save some of us! We need more revelation of how far God is willing to go to save us, to heal us, and to deliver us! Remember – God is longsuffering, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance!
Psalm 40: 2
2He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my steps.
That’s the DEPTH of his love – He reached down into our filth and mess and lifted us out. We need more revelation of the depths of God’s love for us that caused Jesus to leave heaven and come down into the garbage can of this fallen world to redeem us.
So that’s the remedy for our 3D world of breadth, length, and depth – but there is MORE – there is another dimension in which God wants us to experience his love!
and height– 19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
Ephesians 2: 4 – 7
4But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
This is the HEIGHT of his love – he has raised us up to sit with him and to live with him in the heavenly places – in the fourth dimension! This is where he longs for us to live and to minister from!
20Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
When this revelation breaks forth on the inside of us and begins to grow and develop it releases us into the place where our understanding of the little 3D world that we occupy – and the words that we speak and the language we employ is blown away to make room for the God who enters our 3D existence and defies and supersedes our natural limitations by the power of His Spirit working in and through us.
Sadly, many people never get beyond coming to Jesus to have their 3D needs met. They have an encounter with the 4th dimension of God’s love but never enter into a 4D life! Instead they just keep coming over and over again to get their 3D problems solved – as they continue falling into the same traps, and struggling with the same sins.
It is time for the world to hear the testimony of OVERCOMERS who have received revelation of the HEIGHT of God’s love and the life he has raised us into.
Maybe you have 3D needs that you are struggling with right now.
Today, you can have an encounter with the God who can see right into your life – who knows your thoughts and the intents of your heart.
The God who knows the sickness or disease that is in your body and who can reach in and remove it without making an incision or leaving a scar!
The God who knows all about the distress – the anxiety, mental suffering, and anguish – and who can supernaturally impart peace to you as you yield your anxiety to him!
The God who is fully acquainted with your debt and who can begin today the process of restoring you financially as you submit your life to him and his direction.
The God who sees your discontent – your restless unhappiness and dissatisfaction – and longs for you to come to him and experience the supernatural change that he alone can accomplish in your life – an internal change that will cause you to find contentment in every external situation and circumstance.
