is based on the Isle of Lewis, the largest of the Outer Hebrides islands which are situated off the north west coast of Scotland…

Stornoway

The island has air links to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Inverness and Aberdeen and a ferry link to Ullapool on the Scottish mainland, all of which help to make Lewis very accessible to visitors. There are also inter-island air and ferry links connecting with the southern part of the Hebrides and the Isle of Skye.
The main hub of our ministry activity for 18 years until September 2021 was Father’s House on Point Street in Stornoway.  We believe we have been moved forward in our vision by leaving this location and stepping out by faith in obedience to the leading of the Holy Spirit to experience the next episode in our destiny.

Father’s House

From October 2021 we will be meeting on Sunday mornings at Barvas & Brue Community Centre on the west side of the island about 11 miles from Stornoway.

Barvas & Brue Community Centre, Barvas

After this I will return and will rebuild the tabernacle of David, which has fallen down; I will rebuild its ruins, and I will set it up;So that the rest of mankind may seek the Lord, even all the Gentiles who are called by My name, says the Lord who does all these things.’ – Acts 15: 16 – 17

We believe that God is in the business of transformation through restoration.  David’s tabernacle represents a place where the presence, power, provision, and glory of God are accessible to all.  That is what we desire our church gatherings to be – a place where the kingdom, the power, and the glory of God can be easily and readily accessed by all people.  Also, as we go about our daily lives in our communities we carry and live out  the message and core values of  our house and family, thereby making God’s glory accessible to all whom we encounter.  Our vision is to plant local churches wherever we have the opportunity in order to help make the fullness of God’s glory accessible to all who are seeking him.  It is our belief that the majority of people who encounter God’s glory and experience his goodness will choose life over death and the blessing over the curse.

Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you” – 1 Corinthians 3: 16

“I will build My church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it” – Matthew 16: 18

Church is not somewhere that we go – it is who we are!  The Greek word ekklesia which we translate as “church” simply means “an assembly of people.”  Therefore, New Wine Church is an assembly of people of all ages and from many different and diverse cultural backgrounds who have come into relationship with one another through their relationship with Jesus Christ.  The church is the family of God – the household of faith.  When someone is born again they are added to the church just as when someone is born naturally they are added to the world population.  However, those who are born naturally are generally not only added to the world population but they are also added to an individual family.  In the same way, when we are born again we are not only added to the universal church but God’s heart is to place us in a local church family where we will be loved, nurtured, and equipped to live the life of faith.
“Where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them” – Matthew 18: 20

All over the world there are assemblies of God’s people who gather together in Jesus’ name, believing and expecting the manifest presence of God to be with them bringing salvation, healing, and deliverance. New Wine Church is one of these assemblies – a gathering of people of all ages who believe and expect to receive!  The church should never be static but should always be on the move.  Church should always be exciting  and a place where there is fresh testimony of God’s goodness and faithfulness!

New Wine Church meetings include times of worship and praise, believing prayer, faith-filled testimonies, and relevant preaching and teaching for the purpose of equipping people to effectively meet and overcome the challenges of living everyday life in the 21st century!

Visitors are always welcome!
