HOW TO STORM-PROOF YOUR LIFE

DNA – the fundamental and distinctive characteristics or qualities of someone or something, esp. when regarded as unchangeable.

Someone said that the DNA of a believer stands for the Divine Nature of the Almighty.

This is a synopsis of the basic DNA of the message that we believe the Lord has commissioned us to preach and teach.

“Behold, I give you authority to trample on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” Jesus (Luke 10: 19)

“Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock. But anyone who hears my teaching and doesn’t obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash.” Jesus (Matthew 7: 24 – 27)

The same storm hit both houses, but one house is storm-proof.  Which house are you living in? Is your house built on the solid rock of the revelation of the Lordship of Jesus Christ?  Or is your house built on the shifting sand of religious tradition?  The word of God doesn’t promise you a life that is storm-free,
but it does promise that you can have a life that is storm-proof.

“Wisdom has built her house; she has hewn out and set up her seven pillars” (Proverbs 9: 1)

We believe the Word of God promises that you can have:

•    A Sin-Proof Heart
•    A Sickness-Proof Body
•    An Oppression-Proof Mind
•    Recession-Proof Finances
•    A Divorce-Proof Marriage
•    Strife-Proof Relationships
•    A Death-Proof Life

It’s not that your life will be storm-free, but it can be storm-proofed by taking God at his word and sowing the seed of his word into your life – the seed that contains his DNA.

Jesus said in Matthew 16: 18, “I will build My church, and the gates of Hades (the powers of the infernal region) shall not overpower it [or be strong to its detriment or hold out against it].” (Amplified Bible)

Paul said, “…I write so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.” (1 Timothy 3: 15)

The church is the house of God and Jesus is building a house for which provision has been made to enable it to be storm-proof.

“Those who are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God.  They shall still bear fruit in old age;  they shall be fresh and flourishing” (Psalm 92: 13 – 14)

We must stop bringing God’s word down to the level of our experience and allow instead his word to build us up to the level of his provision so that a house can be built that brings glory to God by bringing forth and proclaiming a testimony to his goodness and faithfulness, and spreads the fruitfulness of that message across the earth to all people groups in every nation.

“Whom will he teach knowledge? And whom will he make to understand the message?…..For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little.” (Isaiah 28:9 – 11)
