"I have come that they may have life, and have it more abundantly - superabundantly, excessively, overflowing, surplus, over and above, more than enough, profusely, extraordinarily, more than sufficiently" - John 10: 10

"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever"

Hebrews 13: 8

Saviour

One day Jesus sat down with a woman at a well.  You will find the account of this meeting in John
chapter 4.  This woman was a Samaritan - she was of a different cultural background and religious persuasion to Jesus.

This woman was quite happy to discuss the peculiarities of their different religions with Jesus, but Jesus was more interested in where her heart was at - He was more intent on introducing her to the reality of a RELATIONSHIP with God, than on debating the merits of religious observance.

Jesus saw beyond her religious mask, and spoke directly into her life - He spoke words that revealed to her that he could see beyond her outward show of  religiosity, and see right into her heart.

She realised she was standing in the presence of the Saviour of the world - who knew everything she had ever done, and yet still didn’t condemn her!

She ran excitedly into her home town, and through her testimony many of her fellow Samaritans believed in Jesus and came into personal relationship with God.

THAT WAS YESTERDAY - WHAT ABOUT  TODAY?

Today, this same Jesus doesn’t want to talk religion with you.  He sees beyond every religious mask and invites people to come and experience His forgiveness for everything they’ve ever done, regardless of what that may be.

He wants you to experience a personal relationship with Him, where there is no condemnation, and where you enjoy the excitement and blessing of a new life.

Have a talk with Jesus today!   GOD BLESS YOU!

Healer

One day, Jesus met a man who had been sick for thirty eight years.  You will find the account of this
meeting in John chapter 5.

Before healing this man, Jesus asked him an interesting question.  He said, “Do you want to be well?”

Another day, as Jesus was walking on the road, two blind men began to cry out to Him to have mercy on them. You can read about it in Matthew chapter 20. The crowd following Jesus told them to be quiet, but they just shouted louder, “Have mercy on us, O Lord!”

When Jesus heard them He stopped and asked them a question.  He called out to them, “What do you want me to do for you?”

They were very specific in their reply, believing that Jesus was able to supply their need.  They said,
“Lord, that our eyes may be opened.”

Guess what happened?  They got what they asked for, what they believed for!  Why?  Because they had just had an encounter with Jesus Christ the Healer.  All through the Gospels there are accounts of people who had similar encounters with Jesus the Healer - they came to Him sick and went away healed.

THAT WAS YESTERDAY -  WHAT ABOUT TODAY?

Today, this same Jesus is still healing people who come to Him believing and expecting.  Today, if you are sick, Jesus has two questions for you. “Do you want to be well?”  and  “What do you want Me to do for you?” You can be specific in your request for healing just like the two blind men, and if some of those in the crowd who are following Jesus tell you to be quiet, just ask louder.  He wants to heal you.  He is still  Jesus Christ the Healer.

BE HEALED IN JESUS’ NAME!

Deliverer

One day, Jesus had a woman thrown down at His feet who had been caught in the act of adultery.  You
will find the account of it in John chapter 8.

Obviously, this woman’s life was a mess - she had made wrong choices and now she had been caught out.  The religious men who caught her condemned her to death, and now they demanded Jesus’ verdict on her situation.

But instead of joining with the men in their condemnation of her - a  condemnation of which Jesus knew she was worthy - He began to write on the ground.  As the men continued asking Him for His
judgement, He looked up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.”

One by one the men left, leaving Jesus alone with the woman.  Having dealt with her accusers Jesus says to her,  “I don’t condemn you: go,  and sin no more.”

This woman was having an encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ - who was not only able to save her from the penalty of her sin, but was also able to deliver and free her from the power of that sin to bring her back under it’s bondage.

THAT WAS YESTERDAY - WHAT ABOUT  TODAY?

Maybe when you are around religious people you feel condemned. Well, Jesus didn’t come to condemn people - He came to save people.  You can know Him not only as your personal Saviour, but also as your Deliverer - Who doesn’t just forgive you for sin, but also breaks the power of that sin in your life, so that you are no longer controlled by it.

Spend some time at Jesus’ feet today - you’ll get up free from religious condemnation, and free from life-controlling, life-destroying habits and lifestyle.

God Bless You!

Provider

One day Jesus supernaturally fed five thousand people from a young boy’s packed lunch of five loaves and two fish.  You can read about it in John chapter 6.  These five thousand people that day had an encounter with Jesus the Provider and Supplier of our every need.

Some people don’t think God is interested in our physical needs, but when Jesus was teaching His disciples how to pray, one of the things He said they should pray was, “Give us this day our daily bread”.

When Jesus met those who were reduced to begging because of some physical infirmity, he didn’t just throw a few pennies in their pot and pass on by.  He healed them of their physical condition, and in so doing He also healed them economically.  They would no longer have to beg but would be able to live a normal life.

One day, the apostles Peter and John were going into the Temple to pray when a crippled man who was begging at the gate asked them for some money.  Peter said to him, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you:  In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.”

The man got up and went into the temple - walking, and leaping, and praising God!  Not just healed
spiritually and physically, but also healed emotionally and economically!  His begging days were over!  He had just had an encounter with Jesus Christ the Provider and Supplier of every need.

THAT WAS YESTERDAY  - WHAT ABOUT TODAY?

Today, the same Jesus is not only interested in our spiritual condition.  He ministers life to the whole man - spiritually, physically, emotionally, and economically.  One of the Hebrew names for God is “Jehovah-Jireh” which means “The LORD will provide”.

God is able to provide for us supernaturally even when the natural circumstances are against us.  He is able to provide food for those who trust Him - even in the midst of a famine;  He is able to provide work for those who believe -even when unemployment is running high;  He is able to supply every need regardless of the natural limitations.

Today, believe and receive - don’t doubt and do without! Have an encounter with Jesus Christ the Provider and  Supplier of every need!

Be Blessed!

Baptiser

One day, Jesus told His disciples that He was going away.  This was devastating news for them - they had left everything to follow Him, and now He was going to abandon them!

They had heard and seen Jesus preach, teach, heal the sick, cast out demons and even raise the dead.  But now He was going away, and the show was coming to an end - all the excitement was over.

But that wasn’t all that Jesus said - He told them that those who believed in Him would continue to do the same works that He had been doing;  that His Father would send the Holy Spirit, who would not only be WITH them, but IN them; that when the Holy Spirit came they would receive POWER - supernatural power, to enable them to continue His ministry.  Maybe the excitement wasn’t over after all.

Soon afterwards Jesus was arrested.  He was taken and nailed to a cross to die a criminal’s death.

2 Corinthians 5: 21 says, “…(God) made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”

There at the cross Jesus dealt sin a fatal blow and made it possible for men to be reconciled with God - and to be filled with the same life and power that Jesus had.

Jesus rose again from the dead on the third day just as He had said.  He appeared to His disciples on several occasions and reminded them to wait and to expect to receive the Holy Spirit.

On the Day of Pentecost the disciples were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke with other tongues.  So began the New Testament Church, as they poured out onto the street, full of Holy Spirit boldness - declaring and proclaiming the wonderful works of God - to continue the supernatural ministry of Jesus with signs and wonders.  They had just had an encounter with Jesus - the Baptiser in the Holy
Spirit!

THAT WAS YESTERDAY -  WHAT ABOUT TODAY?

Today, that same Holy Spirit power is available to all who will believe and receive - to all who recognise that they can’t make it on their own.

If your life lacks power today - maybe you don’t know Jesus as your personal Saviour; maybe you are a backslider; maybe you are on a treadmill of religious formality; maybe you are tormented with doubts concerning your salvation.  If so, you need the Holy Spirit’s power - you need to have an encounter with Jesus the Baptiser in the Holy Spirit.

In Luke chapter 11, verse 13 Jesus said, “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”

Ask Him today and BE FILLED!

If you are not experiencing abundant life and you would like to know Jesus as your
personal Lord and Saviour, please pray this prayer.  As you believe in your heart and confess with your mouth you will be born again.
(Romans 10: 9 - 10)

Lord Jesus, I need You in my life.
I believe that You are the Son of God and that
You died on the cross for me.

Please forgive me for my sins and create a clean heart in me.
Renew my spirit so that I can hear Your voice.

Fill me with your Spirit so that I can be Your  witness.
Thank you Jesus that You are now my
Saviour and Lord!
Amen.
