Open Heaven in 2007
2006 has been consigned to history…
2007 has been prophetically declared to be the "Year of the Open Door". As I meditated upon this truth I heard the Lord say "Open Heaven in 2007"!
John 10: 7 – 10
7 Then Jesus said to them again, “Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. 8 All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. 9 I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. 10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
As I was meditating afresh on this Scripture recently I heard these words rise in my spirit – "LIVE IT!" – "LIVE IT UP!"
Jesus is the door out from under the dominion of a stealing, killing, destroying devil – and the door into life – abundant life! He is the door through the control of the principalities and powers and the door into an "Open Heaven in 2007"!
Our faith has been so contaminated with fear that we have been afraid to live this life – to LIVE IT UP! The Holy Spirit always comes to lift us up. As we humble ourselves under God's mighty hand – acknowledging his Lordship over our lives – he lifts us up in due season! I believe that in 2007 we are entering due season!
God's heart is always to take us to a higher place – to bring our experience up to a higher level.
Our position in Christ is that of being seated with him in heavenly places – you can't get any higher than that. Sadly, our experience often falls short of our position and so we fail to live in the fullness of what our position has made available to us.
Say this out loud – "Open Heaven in 2007"!
Why say it? Because if you don't say it you will never see it! We believe in our hearts but it is confession that brings possession!
Deuteronomy 26: 16 – 19
16 “This day the LORD your God commands you to observe these statutes and judgments; therefore you shall be careful to observe them with all your heart and with all your soul. 17 Today you have proclaimed the LORD to be your God, and that you will walk in His ways and keep His statutes, His commandments, and His judgments, and that you will obey His voice. 18 Also today the LORD has proclaimed you to be His special people, just as He promised you, that you should keep all His commandments, 19 and that He will set you high above all nations which He has made, in praise, in name, and in honor, and that you may be a holy people to the LORD your God, just as He has spoken.”
1 Peter 2: 9 – 10
9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 10 who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.
A holy people! A people set apart by God for God – a people who dare to believe that Jesus is the door! A people who are not afraid to LIVE IT UP – to live what they believe! A people who are not shaken from their declaration of faith by the circumstances of life. A people who know that if they stand and go on standing they cannot fail to receive what God has promised!
Isaiah 35: 3 – 10
3 Strengthen the weak hands,
And make firm the feeble knees.
4 Say to those who are fearful-hearted,
“ Be strong, do not fear!
Behold, your God will come with vengeance,
With the recompense of God;
He will come and save you.”
5 Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened,
And the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.
6 Then the lame shall leap like a deer,
And the tongue of the dumb sing.
For waters shall burst forth in the wilderness,
And streams in the desert.
7 The parched ground shall become a pool,
And the thirsty land springs of water;
In the habitation of jackals, where each lay,
There shall be grass with reeds and rushes.
8 A highway shall be there, and a road,
And it shall be called the Highway of Holiness.
The unclean shall not pass over it,
But it shall be for others.
Whoever walks the road, although a fool,
Shall not go astray.
9 No lion shall be there,
Nor shall any ravenous beast go up on it;
It shall not be found there.
But the redeemed shall walk there,
10 And the ransomed of the LORD shall return,
And come to Zion with singing,
With everlasting joy on their heads.
They shall obtain joy and gladness,
And sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
A holy people must have a holy way – a people who are going high must follow a high way!
Isaiah 55: 8 – 9
8 “ For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD.
9 “ For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways,
And My thoughts than your thoughts.
God's way is always a high way! His thoughts are higher than our thoughts and that is why his ways are higher than our ways. It is because we have thought low thoughts that we have fallen short of his glory! Every time we sin it is because we have been afraid to LIVE IT UP!
Isaiah 6: 1 – 3
1 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple. 2 Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. 3 And one cried to another and said:
“ Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; The whole earth is full of His glory!”
4 And the posts of the door were shaken by the voice of him who cried out, and the house was filled with smoke. 5 So I said: “ Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.”
Isaiah saw the Lord – high and lifted up! He heard the angels cry, "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts – the whole earth is filled with his glory". This experience changed Isaiah's perspective of everything! I believe that many of us are going to see the Lord this year in ways that we have never seen him before.
It is one thing to hear about the Lord – it is something quite different to see him!
Isaiah's initial response to what he saw was to confess that he was a man of unclean lips dwelling among a people of unclean lips. Remember – your words are simply the voice of your thoughts, and so Isaiah recognised that his lips were unclean because he had been thinking low thoughts and speaking low words in regard to the Lord. Unclean lips are lips that that speak words that don't line up with God's words and so fail to see God's will accomplished.
Remember – God's word never returns to him without accomplishing something.
The prophet generally sees what others cannot see and so he says what nobody else is saying. This can make him unpopular . Sadly, many reject what he says and so they never get to see what he has seen!
It is essential that we hear and align ourselves with the prophetic word if we are going to see the Lord this year!
We need 20/20 vision!
2 Chronicles 20: 20
Believe in the LORD your God, and you will be established; believe his prophets and you will prosper
Don't be afraid to LIVE IT UP this year! It is time to go higher – to think higher thoughts and to speak higher words that cause us to walk on God's highway!
You may have failed in 2006 – but that's history!
Say it – "Open heaven in 2007"!
Purpose in your heart that you are going to see the Lord this year in ways that you have never seen him before – that you are going to be holy as he is holy.
If you have to confess to having unclean lips then do it – and then take the living word of God in your mouth and speak it out. Your lips will be cleansed and you will be in the glory!
What are you going to dare to believe God for this year?
Remember – "Open Heaven in 2007"!
LIVE IT UP!
